Traductor de Google:

Barcelona presents the first retrospective produced in Spain of the work of Shomei Tomatsu (1930-2012), one of the most important photographers from contemporary Japan and considered one of the great figures in 20th century photography. The Fundació MAPFRE looks at Tomatsu’s career through 180 images covering the topics and interests which captured his attention.

Shomei Tomatsu is known for his photos of survivors of the atomic horror of Nagasaki. His work uses realism, with avant-garde touches which add a surprise to the images. The display includes one of his most famous photos, Bottle melted and deformed by atomic bomb heat, radiation and fire (Nagasaki, 1961).
