33rd Tradicionàrius Festival

The 33rd edition of the Tradicionàrius International Folk Festival gets under way on Friday, 10 January. This showcase for current folk music from the Catalan-speaking countries and other places will go on until 3 April.

The festival kicks off with a procession by Kabum and the Col·lectiu Guirigall, starting off from Plaça de la Vila and going around the streets of Gràcia before reaching the Centre Artesà Tradicionàrius.

The opening concert starts at10.30 pm and will be by Kepa Aurrera, a transcendental musician for the current vitality of traditional music from the Basque country, the Iberian Peninsula and beyond. The concert will also feature a significant representation of Catalan performers and the repertoire from the FOK project.

After that it’s the turn of Gaizca Project, an alliance between Galicia’s Ialma, the Basque country’s Iñaki Plaza and the Catalans Manu Sabaté and Ciscu Cardona, who will be performing traditional Galician, Basque and Catalan music with a contemporary approach.

El Festival Folk Internacional Tradicionàrius celebra la seva 32a edició.
