The Arxiu Fotogràfic de Barcelona, founded in 1931 and located on the second floor of the former Convent of Sant Agustí, preserves more than 2,700,000 photographs dating from 1839 to the present day, primarily focused on the city of Barcelona.
Over the years, the archive has been enriched by contributions from professional and amateur photographers, publishers, prominent figures from Barcelona society, institutions, families, private citizens, and the City Council itself.
