Barcelona will be the global epicentre of architecture in 2026 after being chosen by UNESCO and the International Union of Architects (UIA).
The city is now the only one in the world that has been chosen to be the venue of the UIA twice. This edition is called Becoming. Architectures for a Planet in Transition.
The schedule of activities for the World Capital of Architecture 2026, which is being held from February to December, includes more than 1,500 activities in the city's ten districts including exhibitions, routes, workshops, open days, tours, facilities, lectures and contests.
The aim is to showcase the city’s heritage and talent, while also highlighting the transformative power of urban planning and architecture.
