Aïta Mon Amour’s artistic endeavour stems from Widad Mjama's fascination with the Chikhates, the women singers who have perpetuated a poetic tradition dating back to the 12th century. 

In this performance, Widad Mjama on voice and percussion, in collaboration with Khalil Epi, on the mandole and outar, rescue this poetry from oblivion to pay tribute to these majestic women and make this Moroccan art resonate in the contemporary and digital era.

A musical narrative based on Aïta's poems and songs that move between tradition and modernity. A celebration of the cultural heritage and authentic feminism that Widad Mjama has been able to embody with such passion and respect.
