Guided tour. An itinerary through the most contrasting area of Ciutat Vella.

On this route we will discover convents converted into museums and cultural centres, the old hospital, the parish cemeteries and a Romanesque monastery next to two metro lines.

We will relive it with legends about old men and women with marginal trades, orphaned children marked with red iron and impossible loves.

Getting to know this oral tradition will offer us a new vision and experience of the history of the neighbourhood, the neighbourhood and its current reality.

The route is based on the work of Joan Amades, the most prolific Catalan folklorist.

Un itinerari per la zona amb més contrastos de Ciutat Vella, l’actual barri cosmopolita que fou territori proscrit extramurs de la ciutat medieval i bressol de la Barcelona revolucionària del s.XIX.

Descobrirem convents reconvertits en museus i centres culturals, l’antic hospital, els cementiris parroquials i un monestir romànic al costat de dues línies de metro. Ho reviurem amb llegendes sobre geperuts i coixos amb oficis marginals, nens orfes marcats amb ferros roents i amors impossibles. Conèixer aquesta tradició oral ens oferirà una nova visió i vivència de la història del barri, el veïnat i la seva realitat actual.

La ruta es basa en l’obra de Joan Amades, el folklorista català més prolífic.
