At the Saló de Cent in City Hall, this year’s official speaker is about to kick off the festivities. Meanwhile, on Avinguda de la Catedral, sardana groups and locals eager to dance have gathered. As they do every year, they will perform the Sardana accompanied by the Cobla Sant Jordi - Ciutat de Barcelona, which also marks the start of the celebrations and sets the tone for the traditional La Mercè festival.
