Circus. This circus cabaret for the MAC-Mercè Arts de Carrer brings together the finest artists and companies from Ukraine.

Kabare Kraplynka is a taste of the best of Ukrainian circus, a sample of the most incredible circus specialities, like a dizzying trio of acrobats, Michelangelo’s David doing the aerial pole and the ancient technique of mallakhamb.

Trio Bellissimo (hand to hand acrobatics), Oleg Tatarynov (aerial pole), Katya Nikiforova (bounce juggling), Anton Manaharov, from the Kyiv Municipal Academy of Performing and Circus Arts (aerial rope), Liliya Turkeieva (Indian pole) and Dúo Turkeev (aerial silks) are the artists performing in the cabaret.

This show will be presented by the actress, singer, playwright, poet and director Itziar Castro.

The must-see guests on the La Mercè lineup are coming back to the Castell de Montjuïc: the circus cabaret. And just like last year, in the 2023 edition the cabaret will bring together artists and companies from Ukraine who have found support and a safe harbour in Barcelona, along with a stage to display their talent in La Mercè.

Kabare Kraplynka is a sampling of the best of Ukrainian circus, a taste of the most incredible circus specialities, like a dizzying trio of acrobats, Michelangelo’s David doing the aerial pole and the ancient technique of mallakhamb. Trio Bellissimo (hand to hand acrobatics), Oleg Tatarynov ( aerial pole), Katya Nikiforova ( bounce juggling), Anton Manaharov , from the Kyiv Municipal Academy of Performing and Circus Arts ( aerial rope), Liliya Turkeieva ( Indian pole) and Dúo Turkeev (aerial silks) are the artists performing in the cabaret.

And leading the entire spectacle is Itziar Castro, an actress, singer, playwright, poet and director who is beloved among fans of the stage, cinema and television ( Planta Baixa, TV3; OT, TVE; Todo es mentira, Mediaset). In fact, Castro will be yet another artist: she will engage in dialogue with the audience, improvise with the companies and more. She’ll be an exceptionally exciting host.
