Traditions. The streets and squares will be filled with traditional activities and a variety of cultural events, with adapted Dancing Eggs, flower carpets, bell-ringing, exhibitions, presentations, dances, and the procession.
Barcelona is getting ready for a festival full of tradition, culture and spectacle, due to take place from 19 to 22 June.
In total, 40 spaces distributed across all the districts of the city will form part of the programme, which includes one major new addition: the restoration of water in the sprinkler system will allow the Dancing Egg, one of the main symbols of the festival, to recover all its splendor and glory.
Around twenty floral carpets will be distributed across the city and there will be activities such as parades, dances, open days, bell ringing, exhibitions and talks.
The culmination of the festival will be on Sunday, 22 June with the festive procession, a secular parade that includes all the elements of the popular procession, such as the Giants of the City, the Giants of the Pine Tree, the Lion and the Ox, considered intangible cultural heritage of Barcelona.
