Data final aproximada.

The inauguration of the exhibition ‘Murals divins’ at the chapter house at the Monastery of Pedralbes coincides with the reopening of the newly renovated St. Michael’s Chapel, which houses a pictorial gem from the 14th century commissioned to the Ferrer Bassa workshop.

‘Murals divins’ provides the key to observing the paintings which decorate this space through new eyes, using data collected during the restoration and conservation process. The display offers insights into the artistic and devotional meaning of the chapel, enabling us to imagine the impact on people who would have observed the same thing nearly seven hundred years ago.

The renovation of St. Michael’s Chapel has enabled the original paintwork to be restored, hidden underneath years of coats of paint. The result is a space full of colour, light and emotion, with the minimal presence of museum features.
