The sea, a common theme in many of the shows at the Olympic Port this La Mercè, also takes centre stage in Nao-Now-Nau. It focuses on the world of seafarers. And tells its story... without words. The main character is a fisherman who shares his perspective and life philosophy with the audience. With his pipe and traditional gear, he boards a vessel and ventures into an ocean of uncertainty. And the living set design? It is like a second character, accompanying our protagonist on his maritime adventure. This show is the creation of Javier García ‘Mimo’, an artist trained at the Rogelio Rivel circus school in Barcelona who founded his own company in 2006 to create contemporary circus shows that combine circus, clowning, theatre, object manipulation and, as seen here, antipodism, among other disciplines.
