Sant Jordi’s Day

Traditions. The city's streets will be filled with books and roses, making this an unmissable cultural event for the people of Barcelona.

Every 23 April, thousands of people head for the streets to enjoy one of the most vibrant, distinctive festivals of the year.

This year, Barcelona is celebrating Sant Jordi's Day by creating a huge pedestrian zone in the city centre between Av. Diagonal, Gran Via, C/ Balmes and C/ Pau Claris. What's more, the zone will extend all the way down La Rambla and along a stretch of Gran de Gràcia as well.

On Sant Jordi's Day, you'll also have the chance to enjoy open days, visiting a range of venues, such as museums and the Barcelona City Council building.
