The lake in Parc de la Trinitat has been transformed beyond recognition. A garden has appeared – but not one of delicate leaves and petals. These plants are made of light and fire. Glowing sculptures, from blazing flowers to flaming reeds, appear alongside kinetic birds and mechanical marvels, all lit by flames in a setting far removed from the everyday.

If you want to see what Manchester, the guest city in this year’s annual festival, has to offer – this is one of the most spectacular examples. Wander through the installation and enjoy performances by local artists: Trio Goldberg, Delahuerta and Edwin Freestyle, accompanied by a soundscape created by artist Román Cadafalch.
