Sport, health and fun. All of this and more is what you’ll find at the Fitness Festival, a sports event open to everybody and held annually as part of the   La Mercè festivities  , offering an   outdoor master class in fitness.

The Fitness Festival consists of a 45-minute low-intensity class, with an additional 30 minutes of encouragement and warm-up activities beforehand. It is an initiative of Barcelona City Council via the   Barcelona Institute of Sports (IBE) in conjunction with many of the city's sports centres, both public and private.

Participating in this huge fitness choreography set to the beat of music is  totally free of charge. If you want to join it, all you need is a desire to exercise and have fun and motivation, and to   register for the activity in advance via this   link . 

The goal of this gathering is to  promote sport and healthy habits among city residents. The city offers a host of options so that everyone, young and old alike, can engage in all types of disciplines both at sports centres and outdoors, like athletic circuits and gyms and the Blue Pavilion, among others.

The Fitness Festival joins these activities with a fun, inclusive outdoor activity. As part of the   Barcelona Esport Inclou programme, instructors design choreographies to be inclusive to guarantee that people with reduced mobility can engage in any of the exercises and movements proposed.

A person with functional diversity from the technical staff also participates and shares the stage with the rest of the team from the sports centres leading the activity. Likewise, the participants with functional diversity can follow the choreography from a reserved area located just in front of the stage.
