XXI Ballada de Santa Maria del Mar

The Ballada de Santa Maria del Mar, or Santa Maria del Mar Dance, is a unique occasion where guests parade through the neighbourhood of Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i la Ribera in a procession that ends in the basilica, where the solemn dance is performed before the altar.

The event will take place on Saturday 25 October in the afternoon with the following programme:

  • 6:00 pm – Snack sampling, in Plaça de Santa Maria
  • 6:40 pm – Illumination and start of the festivities, in Plaça de Santa Maria
  • 7:15 pm – Festive walk through the streets of the Ribera neighbourhood. Route: Plaça de Santa Maria, Carrer de l'Argenteria, Carrer de la Princesa, Carrer de Montcada, Passeig del Born, Carrer de Santa Maria and Plaça de Santa Maria.
  • 8:30 pm – Ballada de Santa Maria del Mar, inside the basilica (side access via Carrer de Santa Maria).
