Introduction to Gamelan Workshop

Activity for all audiences.

Recommended age: from 8 years old.

Have you ever heard the sound of a gamelan? It is an instrumental ensemble from the islands of Bali and Java, in Indonesia, made up of percussion instruments and gongs with a remarkably rich timbre. Gamelan music traditionally accompanies rituals and theatre and dance performances, and it is played collectively, with the participation of the whole community.

In this workshop, participants will learn how to play the gamelan and discover its fascinating sound world.

Note: A minimum number of participants is required for the activity to take place.
