FESTA MAJOR MORNING

Route: Plaça de la Mercè, c/ Ample, c/ del Regomir, c/ de la Ciutat, pl. de Sant Jaume and inside the City Hall. 

At 12:30 pm: Dance of the Eagle and the City Giants in pl. de Sant Jaume

Pas de l’Ensenyança, c/ de Ferran, the Rambla and Palau de la Virreina.

The bells of the Basilica will be rung at 12:00 noon, the time when all the groups participating in the Barcelona Communal Procession will perform the opening event of the festival, the Esclat de Festa, all of them dancing at the same time. Afterwards, the Seguici de la Mercè procession will begin to make its way to Plaça de Sant Jaume, where it will arrive around 12:20 pm. 

Forming part of the procession will be the Municipal Band, which will be accompanying festive figures such as the Mace-bearing bighead figures, the City Giants, the Cavallets Cotoners horses, the City Eagle, the mythical Mulassa, the Dragon, and the Giants of El Pi and Santa Maria del Mar. Also, the Lion, the Ox, the She-dragon, the Serene Dragon, the stick dancers and the Falcons will be there. And when the dances of the City Eagle and City Giants have ended in Plaça de Sant Jaume, the procession will continue on its way to the Palau de la Virreina.
