The first collaborative production between Colombian DJ and cultural researcher Chica Acosta and Venezuelan DJ and producer Phran gave rise to Momentos de Amor (Vimana, 2024), a DJ set that radically reinterprets Moments in Love by Art of Noise, transporting it into the realms of kuduro and Latin club. Children of migration, both artists have landed in Barcelona as part of a transformative journey that has deeply influenced their music. To the Caribbean memories they carry (in the form of changa , champeta or dembow ), they’ve added the electronic influences encountered in Europe, such as techno, house and acid. Here, the cold precision of machines meets the warmth of Afro-Caribbean rhythms.
