Montserrat, Mother and Earth looks at collecting in terms of devotion, specifically relating to the image of the figure of the Mother of God, the monastery and the mountain of Montserrat.

The exhibition takes an in-depth look at devotional collecting based on the the Monsterrat objects that Frederic Marès collected and others from institutions and private collections.

The display emphasises the iconographic evolution of the image of the Mother of God of Montserrat, of popular devotion linked to her worship and its dissemination in the world of printmaking, highlighting the most exceptional works of the collection. Finally, it concludes with the impact that the world of Montserrat has played in contemporary creation.

The exhibit displays forty works, most of them from the museum's collection, while thirteen have been loaned from other museums and private collections.
