On the 50th anniversary of the First Catalan Women’s Meeting, this exhibition looks at the influence that the feminist movement has had in the field of film and videographic creation in the Catalan context, and how the ideas, demands and actions of this movement have been reflected in audiovisual works by film-makers, leading to a different way of thinking, feeling and creating images in movement.

The exhibition presents nine newly created pieces that dialogue with the topics debated over the days of that first meeting. Work, Neighbourhoods, Family, Education, Media, Politics, Legislation, Rural Affairs and Sexuality. These pieces offer a remounted account from fragments of films, pieces of video art and TV reports, all created by women film-makers and mostly from the Filmoteca’s own archives. The exhibition is accompanied by a programme of screenings and activities with the participation of some of these film-makers and feminist thinkers.

Exhibition curated by Alexandra Laudo with advice from Marta Selva and Anna Solà and produced by the Filmoteca de Catalunya. Editing of audiovisual compilations by Pilar Monsell.
