Schedule

Pan-Africanism has traditionally been seen as a political movement and as a conceptual proposal oriented towards decolonialism, solidarity and both collective and individual emancipation. This is the first major exhibition that focusses on the artistic practices and cultural expressions that shape this black planet. Artists from Africa, North and South America and Western Europe offer us a critical look at the role of art, ancestry, resistance, spirituality and blackness, amongst other issues. They do this through sculptures, installations, maps, flags and archives that invite us to rethink the foundations of our society and the human condition.

The artists and researchers, Agnes Essonti Luque, Albert Gironès and Eva Paià propose a tour of the exhibition: a visit in which participants are accompanied in the elaboration of a collective story and each person's knowledge is put into dialogue. During the tour, the guides will share clues that will resonate across the museum, for each visitor to take away a whisper of the exhibition with them.
