‘Tinta contra Hitler. Mario Armengol, caricaturista a la Segona Guerra Mundial’

Traductor de Google:

Political satire. The horror of war through the graphic humour of cartoonist, Mario Armengol.

The exhibition Tinta contra Hitler is all about the only Catalan and Spanish artist who dedicated major efforts to British and Allied propaganda during World War II.

Between 1941 and 1945, Mario Armengol Torrella (Sant Joan de les Abadesses, 1909 - Nottingham, 1995) drew approximately two thousand cartoons or caricatures in the service of the British Ministry of Information against the Third Reich and the Axis for publication in newspapers and magazines printed in the Allied countries in London and neutral countries, from New Zealand to Haiti.

The exhibition will feature a selection of originals preserved by the illustrator and his family which, together with the publications in which many of his cartoons would appear, is one of the world’s largest collections on the illustration of political satire about the most terrible conflict in history.
