‘They point to a spot (outside the perimeter of the cross-section of a tree to show that they come from the future)'

Art. The installation delves into imagination, vision and reality through sculptures and works that simulate the interior of a closed eye.

Freely reinterpreting a fragment of a Renaissance painting, Lúa Coderch's exhibition, They point to a spot (outside the perimeter of the cross-section of a tree to show that they come from the future), poses this possibility: "if the visionary faculties are extinguished, we will need to sprout new eyes, we will need gestures that point a little beyond exhausted visions." Action is impossible without fantasy, they say; fantasy is at the root of movement, and that is why we need to persist in the exercise of imagination.

Through sculptures, actions and audiovisual works, Lúa Coderch explores these questions, both from their sensory and narrative dimensions, mobilising, channelling and developing reserves of material and imaginary energy.
